that a vw motorsport rallye uses 17/23 ratios from the transfer box and a t4 rear diff with no VC ?????
We do now thanks.
Since I got a T4 I’ve said underneath it’s like a Golf2 Syncro photocopied up to 1.5x size.
Bears out, doesn’t it?
I know that marcel (dutchdub) had provided that info a while back on VWVortex. The T4 rear diff uses the same ratio and mounting configuration as the Haldex diff that is so popular a swap. There are a few photos circulating the web that show this exact VW motorsport Rallye set-up.
Has anyone got any links to these pictures?

Yes i did []
But only cause i read it somewhere…… lol
Here are some links to some images from a PDF file I have. I included some nice VWMS rear arm photos as well! Quality is poor but you still see enough to make you drool! []
wow! they’re the toys to get!
For Real Toys, Pascal & I recently (A couple of months ago) went to see someone with 5 (yes 5) Golf Rallys, 2 were road Rallys, but the other 3 were VW Motorsport Rallys & included the 3rd placed car in the New Zealand Rally (when was that? 1991 I think) he had boxes & boxes full of things like 6 speed 02C dog change gearboxes, carbon fiber propshafts & driveshafts (with 110mm flanges) VW Motorsport Rally rear diffs like you have never seen, with no cv unit, it was a real treat & the 6 hours or so we spent being shown around wasn’t half long enough.
Blimey! that’s toys to behold
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will he sell any parts??
news to me, how do the motorsport cars handle on tarmac though? with no vc or centre diff, both axles would want to turn at the same speed? i thought you need something be it a vc or centre diff to split the axles.
Next time I am there I will get some photos!
