My front right-side (offside if you are UK) outer CV joint has gone. Ive been to GSF and ordered the standard syncro one but its much much smaller than the one that’s knackered. Its off a Country and made by GKN but I cant seem to find owt. The propshaft is also much much thicker than the standard Syncro ones? Ive looked on ETKA and cant make head nor tail of all the variations and I only have the number on the GKN CV joint itself. ETKA doesn’t list the Country ones separately. Well confused- especially as this driveshaft in question is also much thicker than the left-side driveshaft
Numbers on GKN one are
GKN 63 C 152 12 01 98 014 05 12 12
google has given me no joy
I think your shaft is the hollow tubular one, as for the joint any comparison photos please?
Hi. It is hollow. Weird how both sides are different. There’s nothing in etka to show 2 types that I could find either. I’ll sort a pic later Chris. I’ve got spare regular syncro dtiveshafts but don’t yet know if they are 90 or 100mm
ok, so I went back to GSF laden with the old CV joint and driveshaft and we got it sorted. The guys there did a bit of detective work out of the selection. The part number isn’t as long as the above
GKN 63 C 152 12 01 98 014
Or GSF # is 439vg0170
Do you know what the VW part number is?
No idea I’m afraid. I couldn’t work out through etka.
mine appear similar to these ones
