CokkeliHow can i identify is my Country fitted with TRW or ZF power steering? I need to know this becouse somene has fitted wrong tie rod or track rod (how do you call it) to the right side and it rubs to inner side of rim. I bought new onen but thats for TRW so i want to be sure before i begin installing it.
Chris SThe TRW rack has a smooth surface center tube,
while the ZF rack has raised cross rib stiffening,
a look on ebay will show the differences.
CokkeliAnswering to my self. I found info from internet: Before buying parts, identify the type of steering gear you are working on. Units manufactured by TRW have a smooth black housing, with the manufacturer’s label on the housing. Units manufactured by ZF have a silver housing with a cast waffle pattern. The manufacturer’s label is on the control valve housing, near the left side mount.
