Hi, I have a few different Vc’s here. All have the same same casing part number, some are 22mm others 25mm. The one thing they all have in common is the construction. By that i mean the lid is held on with a snap ring that you can see from a oval hole in the side and a bit of the snap ring sticking out on the lid.
One i have here, is different. There is no visible snap ring at all. There is also some numbers etched into it, that the others dont have?
Any ideas? The only other difference between them is all the others came off AOK diffs of 91 vintage, and the odd one came off a ARR diff of 92 vintage.
Could the last VC from 92 be a Pirate copy?
see links below
very good.. although im pretty sure its not a pirate! 😀 i found the same as that etka link. Doesnt list an AAR as a Diff, but does list it for the 25mm vc. It just piqued my interest seeing as the vc had some extra markings on it and no access to the split ring. Maybe its how the last ones were?
Will look later
So, the quick conversation with Chris earlier spurred me into asking around on a few MK2 pages… I have a Motorsport (group N) vc and rear diff!
Nice one!
+ we learn something new nearly every day about our Syncronitis
Very cool, so that would be have been made for a rally prepared golf rallye? I wonder how different it is inside? Could the diff have limited slip?
Possibly, I’m going to have to dig it out and see! If it has its being fitted!
Possibility that the VC has a more aggressive fill too.
