Hi fellow syncrowierdos ( haha )
my original vw sound deadning is not usable anymore. its been submerged in water for too long during this winter.
so its mouldy and smells like.. best guess, cat-piss.
meaning it has to go. and new OEM soundeadning isn’t available.
so, i need to replace it with something somehow. cause the G60 is noisey
carpets are also too far gone. but i’ve got a replacement LHD black carpet lying around for this.
anyone know what i should to in this case?
/Dan
yes, but it also has these thick mats with butyl on one side and old clothing on the other
.
the clothing crap covers the floors, the prop-shaft tunell and bulkhead.
havn’t found anything that is useable
If you look in ETKA
Golf – 2013 MG 8 – SG 63 – Illustration 863-30
you will find all the available VW sound deadening
hmm. are we thinking about the same things?
i’m thinkin about those thick fluffy “insulation” mats
I know exactly what you mean, but I don’t know if VW use that any more???
me neither
doubt that they do.
i’ll find something eventually
took all of mine out. smells to bad. damn water. damn old car. damn old rubber seals. damn rust. damn it all
I bought acoustic foam insulation that goes under timber flooring. I glued them a few layers together until they were 10-12mm thick and cut them to fit, very light and appears to make a difference to road noise
