I want to change my dials to 160mph ones. Can anyone tell me if Syncro ones are single or double pin and any other snags I will encounter?
Cheers.
Chris
Unless you are running an 02C gearbox your speedo will be wildly innacurate. [

Not sure which box but it is running VR6 internals and cable change clutch.
Yes, if you have VR6 internals then I think it must be an 02C, so it should be ok with that speedo set up, [8D]
btw, do you know your final drive (differential) ratio? are you running the VR6 one?
Thanks for your help.not sure on final drive, but it goes into a Rallye transfer box.I will have to ask the cars original builder to find out.
I only ask as the Rallye final drive diff ratio is 3.68 to 1 and the VR6 is 3.38 to 1
Passat Syncro differentials are between 3.93 & 4.2 to 1,
the original 020 rod change Syncro box has a 4.66 to 1 ratio
ummm wonder if my speedo actualy reads correctly, that’ll be a job for the gps later
Hi,
Mine reads approximately 5km/h above the actual speed measured by GPS speed sensor, VBOX.
I see there are 2 speedo gears so changing the gear to the other one might correct the reading??
that pritty normal for mecanical speedos, they are alloed to read over a bit but not under so most manufactures make them read over a bit. to take account of wheel options, tyer wear and so you cant blame them for speeding tickets,
That makes good sense, but when I tried the GPS speed on 2000 Lincoln LS, the reading was just right on the gauge.
Maybe the tire wear and other conditions were just right so the readings matched.
Thanks.
