I dont know why, but I had the impression that we had lost all the earlier info with the change over to the new set up, but thankfully not.
For the rest well I suppose that its just progress, and as you say its a far more more secure set up.
I suppose its like having to replace a favourite worn out piece of clothing, or getting a puppy when your dog dies, its never quite the same, but you get used to it eventually.
As for migrating the forums I am afraid you lost me at migrating or possibly even before!
Is it possible to have the hit/country counter from the old site on the new site?
btw I see there is also a link to the old forums on the home page was that there before or did I just miss it?
Sorry if I upset or offended you, but not having been on site for a while I was shocked that there were no new posts in over 2 weeks

It has just taken me 15 minutes to work out how to post as an answer to a topic, let alone start a new topic,No wonder people are staying away in droves, can we please go back to the old site? it was so much user friendly!
I think if we took an online poll most active members would agree?I have had more than a few long term committed (10 years & longer) site members contacting me saying that they were not going to bother any longer if the site stayed like this, & to be honest I quite agree,
We have to do something or call it a day & go off line & lose all the info that used to be avalilable on the worlds best (& only Golf dedicated Syncro site)
I feel this new set up as we have now is not sustainable in either the short or long term, I have been asked more than a few times “How can I access the original archives” (where there is nearly 15 years of hard earned info) & to be honest I don’t know the answer,
On a personal note, as some of you already know I have reached retirement age, & I am stepping back from syncro to persue other interests, this however does not mean that I no longer have an interest in Syncro, ergo this post!

BTW I have here 2 of the 02C Rallye bellhousings both with & without oilways (1 of each) Either of these will convert an 02A (2wd) gearbox into a 02C 4wd one + I have a selection of Rallye cast iron transfer boxes also both with & without oilways, (3 of each) if anyone has any interest any of these items please e-mail me.
The Rallye gearbox bellhousing & transfer box were made with & also without oilways depending on the date of manufacture, obviously the two (with & without oilways) are not compatable with each other
You need the gearbox number
