Thanks Chris, appreciate the advice. I’m going to buy it
conorParticipantconorParticipantI wonder would a passat g60 syncro front right be the same? –
conorParticipantI found this on autodoc.
https://www.auto-doc.ie/skf/19156?_gl=1*1vo76lx*_up*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAjw1emzBhB8EiwAHwZZxRMLGtzAIE8ZytVlGxHz1ukRcWgMkBmdUsx7HqQqN-OYR5Z6CNnH2xoCCUUQAvD_BwE
the details state that its 100mm trans side and 90mm wheel side, but I am not sure, in the applicable vehicles section lists both a g60 syncro and a golf gti, which wouldn’t be the case…..

conorParticipantOk, seems like the left hand side is the easy side to obtain, I searched for 191 407 271K and they are available everywhere on ebay.
It is the drivers side shaft that is hard to obtain, I searched for 191407272BE and they are very hard to find and expensive….
It may be cheaper to get a 2WD corrado/golf G60 right hand drive shaft and get it shortened by an engineering company

conorParticipantYeah no worries. I’m in no hurry, still very much in the gathering stage!
conorParticipantSorry, only after seeing your message! Things are holding up perfectly. While I dont launch it from a standstill, I regularily plant the boot coming out of low speed corners and it just goes. I think I’ll keep incrementally increasing the power to see what the limit is! I have a 210bhp map for the ecu on my laptop, I think I’ll throw that on next and see if thats enough!
conorParticipantI still own this car. I have recently finished a lot of work and put it back out on the road.
The following work has been done:
new brakes all around.
New shocks and springs all around.
Upgraded front engine mounts.
New wishbones, arb bushes, drop links up front.
rear subframe removed, everything painted, polybushed and refitted.
Propshaft rebuilt.
New timing belt, engine service.
Revised boost pipes in engine bay.
Reflashed AUM ecu with AUQ map, so now 180bhp.I have a rallye gearbox that I bought off Chris, that I intend on fitting at some stage next year.
conorParticipantThanks Chris
conorParticipantThanks for checking the price. I’ll PM you to discuss
conorParticipantA nice selection! I am after the complete gearbox/transfer box combo and cables listed in the advert. Am I right in saying you are based in NL? I am based in Ireland. If the courier cost wasn’t astronomical then I’d be very interesting in going ahead.
conorParticipantHey Chris,
this is an old thread, but I’m wondering, did you sell this in the end? I am interested in upgrading to an 02c in my Jetta.
Thanks
conorParticipantOver four years later and I popped back in to read my old build thread. I still have this car, although it is not being driven at the moment.
I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of it. I have loads of new parts to fit, wishbones, shocks, a brake caliper, propshaft bearings etc!

conorParticipantfurther update, the issue seems to be with posts that have images in them. When I post without trying to embed an image then it posts fine, with an embedded image it wont show the post. I posted an update to my thread in members cars and it showed fine. However when I edited it and added the image it has deleted the post!
