HouseyParticipant
haha, my 5th gear suddenly disappeared on me today
HouseyParticipantrear shocks are mounted its now 55mm higher in the rear (measured from wheel centre to top wheel arch)
front will soon go on aswell, but have to do some checking around for good prices on alignment.
services like that are getting expensive, most at 200€ on up
HouseyParticipantprobably just have to get them ON the car now and do a new alignment thats the downside of it, the alignment. a fast way to say good bye to 200euro
HouseyParticipanti’ve just aquired a set of stock g2 syncro shocks and springs now
HouseyParticipanti’ve got 4 pins which i guess is standard on the syncro
HouseyParticipanthmm. wonder if the 02C edition of the switch still exists?
HouseyParticipantalong with stock G60 syncro springs, or possibly 40/40 lowering kit?
damn, i need everything, top bearings, spring seats, the lot
HouseyParticipantwhy in the ****ing hell am i driving a lowered syncro?
tried it on the snow today (it started snowing here today. so, winter is at the door )
feels very unstable at speed on snow. probably because the rear alignment is a bit “wierd”
i should get the stock G60 syncro shocks and springs.
its a bit jumpy aswell, snow isnt very smooth to drive in, so everything rattles, and i’m jumping in my seat
HouseyParticipantlooks to me like this is modified to fit a regular fwd G60 manifold in order to use the bi-cat system…
could possibly work with the syncro system, altho some of the nuts will be extremly hard to reach
HouseyParticipantno 02 sensor outlet aswell, and its angeled different. and it seems bent? some homemade crap?
HouseyParticipantwell, this should be common knowledge?
or is it just me, since i live in a wintercountry?
i’m using Nokian Hakka 5
link to nokian hakka 7: (almost the same, but mine is a bit older )
http://www.nokiantyres.com/tyre?id=12091290&group=1.01&name=Nokian+Hakkapeliitta+7HouseyParticipantgolf works great, some minor details tho.
i’m still chasing the knock i’ve got on full load with full boost (0.9/1bar)
other then that, only small issues, like worn valve oilseals
HouseyParticipantas i’ve previously said, the heatshield not only works as a heatshield, but it also keeps crap from filling up the xzn bolt-heads on the joint
HouseyParticipantmeaning that the passat g60 syncro also have diagnostics? since thats the same unit as in the rallye?
i’ve got one for sale with harness and ecu
HouseyParticipantthe golf is up and running again
still needs some small work tho
