HouseyParticipant
its vdo. i’ve got loads of them lying around so should be no problem, but this is the only G60 unit i’ve got. altho that does not matter when it comes to the fuel gauge itself
HouseyParticipantdamn, my fuel gauge suddenly stopped working. probably the instrument itself, as the sender is OK (checked it today)
oh well. kinda sucks not knowing how much fuel i’ve got left
HouseyParticipantyes, but read on
there is No 000 to No 071 meaning 72 :p
HouseyParticipantto my knowledge, its made 72 of the Limited Edition golfs 70 Four-door ones, and two three door ones
HouseyParticipanthavn’t posted here in a month now. wow, times sure goes fast
car run still runs great, had some problems with the lambda at one point, but thats sorted (ground wires and crap)
i’m now using an Innovate Motorsports LC-1 Wideband O2 sensor. both to the ecu and to a gauge in the car. nice to actually see AFR levels
oh, and i’ve stumbled across a passat G60 syncro, which i bought for parts, this has ben converted to turbo. and has some nice parts on it, and another transmission (which i need, since my sync-rings close to toast between 1st and 2nd, and 4th a making noises while driving normally
so. things are happing in the background, altho i havn’t been too much in the garage lately
and i should really take som more pics soon
HouseyParticipantgood because i bought that one today got it real cheap. a leftover part . altho its only 8mm thick. but, perhaps a good thing, if it has made a path in the axle
anyhow, also bought a new wheelbearing today, 68mm one, fits perfect, and now my car is noisefree from the rear (as noisefree as a golf can get from the rear that is)
and fitted a 68mm pulley to my charger. whopping fun, altho i drive like an old grandpa
HouseyParticipantdamn, i’m stuck again..
need a new Oilseal on the VC side of the diff.. looked up in etka, and got a bit confused (again)
There are two partnumbers, one which i don’t understand anything of
which is: 020 301 189 T (50x65x10)
and : 020 301 189 N (65×10 ED6,4)uuuhm? i’m guessing its the revision T i’m after
HouseyParticipantthank you!
well. i wrote “its done” but i’ll take that back, its never going to be done but the approval crap is done :p
HouseyParticipantfinally, the car is approved, and i’ve now got the licenseplates ON!!!
been a long journey, with paperwork and back and forth, but finally, its done
HouseyParticipantwell, tightened the bearing thingy. no luck. still noisy and my dif has started leaking again and there is in my opinion too much end-slack. no up and down. inly in and out
the oilseals are new,
soooo. need to source a new diff, a friend of mine recently parted a syncro. hopefully he has a diff for me
HouseyParticipantthanks, gonna give it a try see what happens
HouseyParticipantthen how is it done then?
loosen the set-screw on that locking plate and turn it and check for “play” ?then retightening it and leave it alone?
HouseyParticipantmeaning i need to take off the cv-flange?
HouseyParticipantso i’ve got to disassemble that side then? or how does it work?
HouseyParticipantwell. then i’ve got to disassemble it and check before i buy bearings
and no, how do you adjust the play?
