Participantsoooo.. a little update
started smoking again, lasted almost 2 weeks
picked up the golf today. going to test drive it tomorrow (sunday) and drive it to oslo on monday. hoping it will get approved this time
a fun little car, pulls strong and no misfiring. no problems at all, only problem is my idler pulleys. which needs replacing since they sqeek
and i hate that sound
and i need to get myself a lower 5th gear. i’m going crazy driving 100kph at about 2900rpm. should be down to atleast 2300rpm at 100kph in my opinion
so need to figure out from where i can get those wheels. should be easy to replace the 5th anyways with the transmission in the car. anyone got any tips on that matter?

Participantchris S will probably correct me, but i i recall, the Front VR6 5×100 hubs can be used on the rear on the syncro to make it 5×100

ParticipantNothing new to report, but I have decided to quit smoking.. have been smoking for 13 years, which is half my life
so, I’ve bought some nicotine bandaids today. have only had 4 Cigarettes today. makes me a bit agressive, but its not as hard as I thought (mostly because I get my nicotine trough the bandaids)
Hopefully I’ll pull this off. since a pack of sigarettes (20pk) over here costs (with the exchange rates today, over 10€ a piece) the bandaids are about $30 for 7, one week of use.
so there is money to be saved herewish me luck. hopefully the golf will soon be done, since mye daily is going to the breakers either on thursday og friday

Participantgot a hold of another hose now. and a new PG head
Housey
Participantanother nice thing about these heatshields. they also provide shielding against dirt getting into the triple square bolt heads

Participantsometimes, i’m glad i live in norway, we don’t have any natural disasters like that. a flood every once in a while, but rarely any casualties because of it
glad to hear that you are okay G19

Participantits been hell for a while now. but. hopefully it’ll get together eventually
and i learn as i go. i’ve had golfs for about 8 years now. and i’ve always fixed them myself.
Housey
Participantbecause its not new. its “used-new”. meaning new to me
didnt see this until i filled the car with clean water to check for leaks
Housey
Participantand my “new” hose are leaking… god damnit!!!
Housey
Participantwhats left now is to fill up the car with coolant, remount the hydraulic pump and book a new time at the approval guys
and hopefully it’ll pass this time
if not. i’m wrecking the car and dig myself into the ground..

Participantboth oilseals are now replaces, fluid is added to the diff. sooo.. the rear is finished
i was finished with the cooling hoses. but the outlet on the oilcooler decided not to stay leak free. so. took the cooler of to replace it. then i broke the o-ring between the cooler and flange for the oilfilter
so. bought a new one, but havnt fitted it, only got it today
and i’ve been working too much, overtime almost everyday at work, its good money, but its tiresome. which means things are going realy slow
Housey
Participantyou are basically looking for somebody to weld it together? or a complete “finished” rear axle?
