HouseyParticipant
however, it should be easy to make. i could probably wressle up a pic if you can’t find any online as a friend of mine has two jetta syncros (and a country chrome edition)
HouseyParticipantthe jetta is a bit wierd in the back the floor are the same as the golf. but they have a few centermeters of “deep” floor space from the syncrofloor and back.
HouseyParticipanti’ve got that USRT brace. its s-hit. utter s-hit..
it does nothing. its so extremly thin. and it does not fit at all
and its a knock-off from another type which is similar. but require you to send your bellhousing in for machining
however. a VR6 bellhouse will not fit a 4 cyl engine, but you probably already know this

Originally posted by dazfxvwI’ve got a rallye coming in a few weeks with no engine and gearbox, I’m putting quite a strong G60 engine in so will be upgrading to VR6 syncro gearbox and rear diff (which I already had knocking about) so I need a rallye bell housing.
If Nas’s bell housing would work for me I’d be ok with a swap.
The Vr6 box isn’t any stronger then the regular 02c. so why bother?
you are better off using the internals from a 02J box.
but the real culpit with these boxes are the case flexing. which will rip the gears..
and you won’t do that with a G60 engine no matter what
HouseyParticipantdo we have a source for the o-rings needed for this “rebuild”?
and can anyone actually notice any difference when the fluid has been changed from the stock 30 000ish to 100 000?
will you have more rwd traction? or will it be “constant” binding and ruining the system?
HouseyParticipanti might in a while. when the 16v turbo is up and running
i’m then parting out the PG syncro engine. so i’ll have the manifold then
no problems posting to ireland if you can handle the shipping prices from norway
HouseyParticipantno problems chris. best is that you get well soon
and thanks.
265nm is the same as wheel bearings on Mk2 golfs should be interesting to try that one (i’ve got a torquewrench that goes from 200 to about 800nm (almost 1.5meters long))
HouseyParticipantyou out of the hospital yet chris?
the box is back together, but i don’t have the torque for the angle drive..
i wild guess is that the housing bolts are 25nm. but the big nut on the flange for the prop-shaft?
HouseyParticipantwith rebuild i mean new a better fluid aswell
HouseyParticipantthanks chris
HouseyParticipantwould be great to find a “rebuild” kit for the VC units
there are som standard size o-rings there. but some odd shaped ones too
HouseyParticipantnot too fond of cheap adjustible coilovers. too low and too stiff to drive.
i’ve gotten to the point where i’m about to send the norwegian “car”-authorities an email asking if can use regular golf 2 fwd 40/30 springs.
there arn’t too much differences on them. and the culpit will be the axle weight.
if they match or is better it should in theory be okay.. hopefully
HouseyParticipantstill on the lookout.
HouseyParticipantme neither doubt that they do.
i’ll find something eventually took all of mine out. smells to bad. damn water. damn old car. damn old rubber seals. damn rust. damn it all
HouseyParticipanthmm. are we thinking about the same things?
i’m thinkin about those thick fluffy “insulation” mats
