I’ll check out behind the door cards, when the weather warms up a bit!

did you pick it up and have a bar-b-q??Unfortunately it ran off into the fog!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberOk, I need some new hand brake cables for my Golf Country. Are these the same as the Syncro or Rallye cables or are they different? I can’t access my parts list at the moment, so was hoping someone might know the part numbers or the length so I can find an alternative if they are no longer available.
Or would I be better off converting them to rear discs using later calipers? Seems a bit of an expensive route just to replace the cables!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberI wondered about the door seals or the plastic sheeting behind the door card, but I can’t see any water marks where the water had run down, but that does not mean it is not that!
I remember having a similar problem in my other Golf, but that didn’t have a sunroof, so I am coming to the conclusion that it is either the door or the window seals. I shall have to get the hose out and give the car a good soaking whilst sitting inside, once the snow has gone!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberI’ve lost the front roundel on my County due to an encounter with a stag in the fog, so would like a replacement!
Crash bars work well on deer!!!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberVery nice looking car. Are the bumpers and grille original or were they added later?
Any chance of some pictures of the interior?
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberTry this link for parts:- http://www.vw-golf-country.de/countryforum/ads_item.php?id=495&sid=7afdc20ed32c3f7e162bbb9080bc621a.
I usually copy the text and paste it into http://www.freetranslation.com. It will give you the gist of the text, although some of the more technical words are not translated. In that case try one of the Deutsche-English dictionaries. There is one I used to use which was very good, but I have lost the link at the moment!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberI don’t know what the difference is between the GTi and the CL headlining! The one I have is black and has a big hole for the sunroof as mine is the Chrom version with a webasto roof!
The fog lights are standard Hella versions, but I don’t know if they are still available.
I thought the front seat material was from the ‘Driver’ version. You could get a wheel cover made up, but the rear steps are specific to the Country.
There is someone in Germany who has been breaking Countrys for years, but I don’t know anything about him! Does anyone know who it is?
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberI have one, but no spares!
What are you after and what details do you need?
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberIdeal, but at £10 seems a bit steep for a switch, but would be easier than what I was thinking of.
I was thinking of using a fog light switch, with a relay so that first position it operates the rear screen and mirrors, whilst the second position operates the front screen and the mirrors.
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberLooking at the screen I have, it only has two connections. A live and an earth!
And Chris is right, they will ship to anywhere in the world.
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberNot yet! My Range Rover is out of commission having its heads sorted, so I don’t have a spare motor!! As soon as I get the Range Rover back it will be changed straight away. I could have done with it last week as we had some frost on a couple of mornings.
I’ll post on here, with some pics, as soon as it is fitted.
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberIt’s arrived.
Appear to be made by RacingScreens, but I can’t find them on the web! Then again I could have misread the sticker and I should have taken a picture of it before I put it back in the box!!!!
I have some pictures
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberI won’t find out what the screen comes with until it arrives, which is not likely to be until after Easter!
As it is not a Factory option I’ll have to do something similar to what you have suggested Chris.
Hopefully when I put the new screen in it might cure the leek that always seems to be in the front footwell after it rains!
Hungry_Horse_1955MemberWith regard to the Cruise Control, I’ve been Googling it and it appears it was an option on the US vehicles, being available on the Golf (Rabbit), Jetta, Fox and I believe the Passat. The controls are in English as opposed to your German versions, otherwise it looks identical.
