    Finally… got my fuel hoses for the syncro. Still got a couple of little gubbins for the fuel pump to get from vw but they were a major thing to sort.

    They look very nice and solid, steel braided and nicely put together. Will post pics soon once I know what tomorrow brings :)

    hmm I dunno – I sorta thought when you asked for the logo you had something in mind lol.

    I guess I sorta envisaged the shape of the logo (pipes etc) cut out (e.g. like waterjet or laser cut) approx 2-3″ wide with perhaps some detail (e.g the words and logo details) etched in the front…but that’s based on not much more than what I’d like. I’d figured I’d pay anything up to about £20 for something like that. I’d figured it woudl be attached with trim tape to the back right along with or replacing the regular badges.

    Whether that’s feasible or not though I dunno…;)

    all debadged here so not sure where I’d put a vw roundel…

    how would you get the detail in – is it printed on the stainless or etched in or something?

    nothing on the syncro but re-built one front jacking point on the missus’ gti today. Rest of the car is mint but the front jacking point on both sides was lookign a bit swiss. Anyhow I re-built it out of 2mm so it’s nice and sturdy – got the other side to do tomorrow…my arms are killing me xD

    Also testing my new bilt-hamber electrolux super-zinc anti-rust paint…

    re syncro: Got an appointment with a fuel hose person sometime next week or thereabouts to get nice braided hoses so I can finally connect the new motor up.

    @EDDY
    no idea re spark plugs – i think my 16vs run ngks and the VW ones cos they were the ones to be had on ebay.

    dunno about anyone else but on the jacking/safety issue I tend to stick a spare alloy under the car just in case the jacks slip…simple and hopefully effective ;)

    ouch that’s harsh! blimey did you hit it at any speed? looks quite dramatic :

    That’s the most impressive breakage I’ve seen in a while actually.

    /me revives plans for underbody reinforcement.
