Sorry for the sporadic responses…! Work is a nightmare at the moment alas I have decided not to sell my Mk1, it would be a shame to part with it after all of the work but thanks a lot for the interest it generated anyway!!!
Right then so 68mm bearings it is, and my next question is have you any, or do you know of any, of the corresponding hubs for rear dics to go with them!?
Chris…. thanks for that much apreciated, I thought that the 68mm bearings had a smaller inner diameter too which wouldn’t allow the use of the Rallye hubs???
Having read the thread you pointed me to it seems that you have actually done this conversion already and if so that must not be the case???

My Mk1 is now fitted with a Rallye rear beam and front subframe, nutter4x4 is right there was no need to shorten the rear beam and you just have to remove small sections from the sills at each side to accomodate it!
