lloydyParticipanti think its more to do with T4’s getting more desirable as they get older. Personally i think a T4 syncro 2.5tdi late model, is the best you’ll get. cant see T5’s lasting 20-30 years.
of course im bias, but i think a T3 16″ syncro multivan is the pinnicle 😀Attachments:

lloydyParticipanti used the electrox on all the chassis parts i removed, like rear beam, rear arms ect. then eastwood chassis paint on top. For wax i have used bilthamber stuff and dinitrol, both to good effect

lloydyParticipanti would say for off road purposes it would transform the car, on road performance is more tricky. But i’ve decided to leave it stock. would be nice to have, but expensive and not really needed for what ill use it for

No problem on the cam, thanks for looking. And again, the issues with your car are a shame. hopefully some good comes out of it eventually. I’m quite lucky that i have funds here for this rebuild, although the costs constantly escalate! But thats more down to me being fussy… 😀
attached are some pics of stuff ive been getting on with while the car is away. Wheels completely stripped and painted/diamond cut, shiny new tyre valves.. Rear bumper bar stripped and painted along with tow bar. Rear diff guard bought brand new from vw, then stripped and painted due to a few scuffs. And bolsters repaired and seats!Attachments:
lloydyParticipantWell, as long as someone is watching! Replacement ARB arrived. And obviously more importantly the car is stripped at the bodyshop! Buyer beware, aftermarket body panels are shite! get genuine while they are available. Yes maybe the difference in price is high.. £30 vs £130 for an outer sill, but the difference is plain to see!
And labour costs will show this!.
Hence new genuine front wings and outer sills!Attachments:
