re2Participantthe mag has also asked to do a bit in their project section, so im trying to get a bit more done and send them new pics. Twas a surprise

re2Participantre2Participantcool
Hi!re2Participanti dont know if i can even get mine now, so if anyone else finds a source, please let us all know
re2Participanteh up fella
re2Participanti was looking for my first decent mk2 golf in ’98 and decide on a Driver as my money was none too healthy for insurance. Whilst i was looking about at a rather nice tornado red one in Nottingham, i spotted these odd badges on a rather ordinary looking golf in the corner.
Whats a syncro then mate??
4 wheel drive.
Ahhhh- that would be fun : )
and so the seed was planted…. I bought a driver and that was that. Some tool drove into me and 18 months later I had a payout. Apparently my brother had been telling me about a syncro in autotrader for a few weeks, but i only took notice when I knew i had some £ coming. The car had dropped £600 in price and i was on the phone. I told the bloke that I had the cash and id like to see it asap. I was told that someone was coming on the sat, so i went down one eve instread after telling him that I would have it for the asking price as long as there was nothing majorly wrong with it. My brother took it for a test drive and dented one of the alloys, and we went over it with a mag-light and used some ramps to look underneath. I had no ised who GTI Engineering was and bought it soilely on 4wd + 2 litre conversion = definate fun. I did a lot of research and the rest is historyre2Participantive struggled to find anyoine prepared to take on a custom manifold and d/p. My less that perfect soln is using a Rallye manifold and a stumpy downpipe. Its not as good as a a custom complete system, but it will be miles better than a standard syncro manifod and d/p. I will also be very surprised to find a german company offering RHD systems. Even the systems over here have been critasised from time to time as being poor quality and they are all LHD anyway
re2Participantkeep us posted
: )re2Participantnice fabrication for the bulkhead. Wont you get pretty good air out of the bay even with the bonnet closed? Surely the air will flow out of the airvents on the bonnet?? I agreee that it wouldnt be anywhere the same, i just wondered if it was sufficient without attracting attention from the raised rear bonnet
re2ParticipantHi fella
the 16v brakes foul the chromlux wheels due to their deep-dish design. Nowt to do with tyres. Have a gander at my thread. Ill be taking some more pics soonre2Participantheres the original ad for the car way back in 2001
Ive also just landed another calmaster wheel []
and Im looking at a GTI Engineering bodykit very soon for the future incarnation (i dont plan to have a zender wing!!!!)
