Good to know! Thanks!
Richard JamesMemberChris, one more question. I’d like rear vr6 control arms but I have only found 1 set on german eBay for 400 euros. Is that a decent price? I know they must be rare.

Richard JamesMemberHaha if I get stuck in the desert here then you should probably take my car from me!
Thanks for the help Chris, I don’t think I’m going to mess with it for now.
Richard JamesMemberOkay thanks! I don’t think I’m going to wire/plumb it in as I’m in the desert and it wouldn’t see snow. My understanding is that it only deals with reverse and slippage.
Thoughts?
Richard JamesMemberI have it all finished and seems to be working properly I would suggest a higher viscosity silicone. Ebay uk has a company that sells the silicone and most of the seals for our cars as the kit is for the t4 syncro. The proper weight I believe is 340.000? He has it and that is what is suggested according to a technical bulletin posted on vortex somewhere.
Richard JamesMemberIf anyone needs help or an idea how it all works definitely ask. I can’t say for sure it helped but my fluid was very dirty and it was leaking.
Richard JamesMemberChris, you were right, my machinist showed me how it was done. It was a very cool design.
Richard JamesMemberI have a hard time believing that it will be reusable once out and not completely rusted. I will take a look at it when I remove it and see if I can reuse it.
Richard JamesMemberI will be following that link and cutting the lid to use a big circlip. I will update once it’s finished and hopefully functioning.
Richard JamesMemberI had saw that. I guess I just don’t understand that concept how a wire holds it on. I will have to look into that. Are you guys able to get your hands on seals over there for it?
Richard JamesMemberThis is where I have been getting all of my info:
Richard JamesMemberFrom what I’ve read the vanagon units are rebuildable as they have a big snap ring. I read you have to machine the case off with a lathe for our cars? I’ll have to check the fill plugs to be sure it’s not that
Richard JamesMemberI have the 4 cylinder bracket just seeing if you can get your hands on one. If you could check after Christmas I’d very much appreciate it.
Merry Christmas!
Richard JamesMemberHi Chris,
Anyway you could source a bracket for me as I’m in the USA and cannot seem to find anything near this. I don’t want to make something if I don’t have too.
The car is going to be planning on putting down a lot of power so I absolutely need this.
Thanks!
