Made multiple atttempts to contact seller but no joy. Apprears to have no headlining and coolant looks low, no other details bar what’s in the advert.

    Hello all!

Nice little read catching up on missed posts.

September 2018 I was ploughing through the Jetta project when a bad motorcycle crash left me in a place where doing the normal stuff was nigh on impossible so the Jetta took a back seat.
Anyway – currently checking over parts I have and parts surplus to requirement (memory a little hazy still) so may have some bits up in the for sale section soon.
I’ll put in some updates as soon as I have something worth reading.

Talking of bits for sale, there’s a mk3 VR6 syncro for sale on facebook if anyone is interested (I’ll post in the relevant section). I have tried multiple times to make contact but have heard nothing as yet (I guess it’s not to be) 🙁
Perhaps someone else will have more luck…

    G60 reverse switch.

Just a quickie – am I right in thinking the the rallye/g60 syncro reverse switch engages the rear drive train and light but nothing else?
As in if I don’t run one I’ll still have full syncro usability whilst going forward – yes?

    Thanks!
    (Updates this week hopefully)

Thanks Chris, totally skipped my mind to check ebay – I have messaged the sellers.

Out of curiosity could you PM me a price in case ebay bears no fruit – additionally I recently picked up a rear diff unit from a rallye and wondered if worth swapping for my standard low mileage one (which I believe is also 25mm).

    Morning y’all!

So a big ‘ol spanner in the works has been (and I still am) waiting for the transfer box to turn up, if I can source another I’ll pursue a refund on the one I’m waiting for, so if anyone has one to mate to a CDG gearbox please hit me up with a price.
    Appreciated.

Wiring has been a big ol’ pain in the ass, not so much the sorting but there have been a number of damaged sections. Most of them I would have never have found if I hadn’t stripped the car.

Left and middle are G60 loom, on the right is the Jetta.

Close ups of some damaged sections.

Gearbox was looking a bit crusty so started cleaning it up with TFR and a copper brush – it didn’t look like that on ebay.. 🙁

Once it’s clean I’ll spray it black.

With regards the the fuelling, I’ve sourced a rallye intank pump but don’t want to run a second under the car because wiring/20+yr old plastic etc. Pictured as an “all in one” mk3/corrado lift pump/reservoir (note the crap in the filter). I’m working on my own version of this to run in the tank, reason being the one shown is physically too big to fit through the opening. More to follow on this as and when…

Rear brakes are now together –

    Rallye carriers
    Mk3 golf calipers and pads
    Mk2 golf 1.3 front discs

Something bothering me is the “swept” area on the disc, there’s quite an area which the pad misses. I haven’t had a chance to investigate but it’s on the list…
