timing aint always how you want it ehI know what you mean. I’ve all ready had someone else ask if I can hold it for a couple of months until the sort out funds. I don’t think this is the right time of year to sell a car tbh.
I’ll see how it goes, but if it doesn’t sell in a week or two I may just sideline it for a while and try again in a couple of months, I’ll keep you posted.
I never knew there was another Jetta syncro in Lincoln, what colour is it and I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Rust on back of car:
Dent on o/s/r door
I’m not sure what its worth but I’m gonna say £750 as its kinda rare, runs well and is T&T until end of September this year.
I’ve got a bit of spare time this week so will see about fixing a couple of the bits that need doing.Anyone interested either post here or email skattrd [at] gmail [dot] com

MemberWelcome back Chris.

MemberSpasmodic.
I have a few cars and my Jetta occasionally gets ignored for a while as does this place, but I pop on here when I think about it or I need some advice on how to fix it…

MemberI’m not really a fan of Golfs but am into Scirocco’s and a couple of years ago decided I wanted something 4wd. Whilst I was looking for an Audi CQ I came across this Jetta on ebay quite cheap so thought what the hell. So far I’ve spent probably double what I originally paid for the car and its still not quite right, but I’m kind of attached to it now and due to the rarity of it feel obliged to keep it going….. One day it’ll be worth something

MemberI don’t mean to hijack, but has anyone fitted front strut braces (upper or lower) and if so how does it affect handling?
I’m quite tempted to get a mk2 golf lower strut brace as I find the front a bit wallowy so was hoping this might improve it a bit.

MemberI don’t realy mean scrap all syncros ….. I was just posting as it was my disgust at a distinctly rare Jetta syncro being scrapped to use the drivetrain on a common as muck mk1 [
]
It got me thinking that there weren’t alot of mk2 syncro’s to start with and now theres even less as they are just seen as donors for other vehicles …. eventually people will realise how rare these things are and then they might actually be worth something.
edit: is there any way of finding out exactly how many are left?

MemberI hope this gets sorted soon as the site is missing a wealth of knowledge with the absence of these two.
My syncro is now in daily use and running great with its new springs, pb head, weber and golf backbox. None of which would have happened without the advice and parts from various members on this forum. This is a great little community and I sincerely hope it continues in the same vein for a long time.

MemberThx for the reply.
As suspected I’m not using the Pierberg, so I’ll leave the head as is and order new seats tomorrowskattrd
MemberCheers ld50 – backbox fitted, its just a little short but I’m ignoring that for the time being

MemberCheers mate, I’ll prob be passing by Northampton next Wednesday so may even be able to pick up …..
How much are you looking for for it?Chris
skattrd
Memberld50 – where are you based? if its too far for me to pickup any chance of posting?
Tbh mate the bit I really need is the bend so if you could just hack the pipe off at the backbox and send me the pipe with the bend it that’d be fine … I’ll be welding another pipe/backbox on anyway. My bro-in-law (mechanic) was hinting at just putting a straight pipe out of the back of the car [:o]

MemberI’m based in Lincs near Lincoln.
I do travel a bit with work, but currently not for the next week or so.skattrd
MemberCheers Chris I thought it should fit.
I’ll prob need somne sort of extension patching in as a golf zorst is a bit shorter than a Jetta one isn’t it?
