other thing i noticed with gu heads the valves bounce at lower rpm than gti heads but that may have been due to mialage wear on springs
no such userParticipantGTI ones fit but don’t expect huge gains, no point in going more than 266 – 270 deg. would suggest looking at a Newman cam there resonably priced and no vernier is needed to time them up properly as they are cut at 110 deg like the VW cams and not the 106 deg like Kent and Piper, personally I would recomend a 270 Newman, there is no point going for more than 270 with GU head and syncro downpipe, it don’t work
no such userParticipantfk highsports that bad ?? will be sticking to spring damper setup then
no such userParticipantthe 2E is in very plentful supply mk3 golf gti, 2ltr passats pretty much any 2ltr 8 valve from 93 onwards. later gti’s had AGG’s but they are useable as well they just have a very nice toothed wheel built onto the crank and a pickup in the block brillian’t for megasquirt conversion but other than that it’s same as a 2e
no such userParticipantAudi 3A is the same hight it’s a 2ltr 8 valve you will have to edit the webbing on the back of the block to clear the rod change angel drive though
no such userParticipantIt doesn’t seem to be running.

no such userParticipantYou should normally fit a full set of five new tyres to a Syncro vehicle, but sometimes this isn’t possible. In this situation you should try to buy a pair of new tyres, of the same size and (if at all possible) brand and tread pattern. This ensures they are as close as your existing tyres in rotational size.
When fitting a pair of new tyres to a Golf Syncro (or T4) they must be fitted to the front and only fitted provided there is not a substantial difference to the wear point vs the rear tyres. When fitted to the front these tyres will wear faster and even up quickly. While they are ‘evening up’ the freewheel on the T4 and Golf will ensure there is no transmission wind up and you should not suffer any mechanical breakages because of this.
You should only ever fit a complete new set of tyres to a T25 Syncro – there is no freewheel in the drivetrain and thus no way of ‘taking up the slack’. You will break things if you do not fit tyres as a complete set.
no such userParticipantNope.
no such userParticipantThe last test I ran was on my home PC and the works laptop wasn’t online cluttering the connection, either – so the US site was just slow.
I’ve just tried things out here in work and I was getting speeds as follows: US Site 160-180kb/s UK site ~200kb/s
no such userParticipantUS one gave 108kb/s and UK one 222kb/s. I know which one I’d buy.
no such userParticipantNah, running a steady 100kb/sec on the other (non-work) machine.
no such userParticipant13-16kb/sec here at time of post and I’m getting bored…. then jumped to 107kb/sec
That is over wireless. How much difference would that make, B?
Think I might need to change my internet connection….. although this is going through a VPN… off to try the other PC.
no such userParticipantsteady 60 kb/dec here but that probaly my connection, 1st page allways dose take ages then the rest are normaly resonably quick
no such userParticipant24.44 on the front page and then 0.12 for this one – go figure :S
